29 November 2017
Youth Empowerment Organisation(YEO) is a non profit organisation and is registered with the Department of Social Development. Its registration number is 050 505.
YEO seeks to empower the youth by providing skills development. Its main aim is to assist (existing and prospective) students from disadvantaged backgrounds with registration and tuition fees. The organization also seek to motivate and develop the youth in order to empower them. This applies to both school going and school leavers, too provide career guidance, training and workshops that will ultimately assit with career development and to create awareness about societal issues, including education social, health, crime and other important societal challenges.
The organistion has an intiative called “Thusa Ngwana Geno”(Help your sister/brother), the initiative seeks to only assist prospective students that are accepted at any South African institution of higher learning with registration fees. Its aim is to assist more than 50 students each year. Students will also be assisted with stationary that they will need in order to start their academic journey. Regular workshops will be provided to ensure that students are supported and continuously encouraged in order for them to stay motivated and to ultimately esure success.
John Molepo (founder) indicated that it is pivotal that we assist prospective students in order for them to achieve their dreams, some students come from disadvantaged backgrounds and cannot afford to pay registration and tuition fees. So we saw a need as an organization to assist such individuals.
The volunteers of the organization who are graduates will be wearing their academic gowns at Eskia Mphalele Robots Saturday (2 December 2017) from 08:00-09:00 requesting funds from motorists. The funds will be deposited into the organisations account to assist prospective students in 2018.
We humbly request your presence.
